Faculty Position in Business

Wheeling Jesuit University

• Minimum of a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent plus teaching and/or business experience. A Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Business or a closely related discipline with full time teaching experience at an accredited four-year college or university would be preferred.
• Some exposure to international business would be a plus.

The Department of Business is looking for an individual with the appropriate background to teach in two or more of the following areas, management, strategy, organizational behavior, and/or quantitative business. The position is a one year, non-tenure track appointment with the potential of being converted into a regular tenure track position after one year. Wheeling Jesuit University has both graduate and undergraduate business programs. The undergraduate majors are in business (with concentrations in management, marketing and international business) and accounting. The graduate programs are a Masters of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Accountancy. There are approximately 170 undergraduate majors and 45 graduate students. The department consists of five full-time faculty members supported by a number of adjuncts. The Department of Business is housed in a dedicated area complete with a “smart” class room, seminar room, traditional class room and a computer lab that is used for instruction.

The normal teaching load is four courses per semester. All faculty members are expected to
serve on committees, advise students and engage in scholarly research. Service to the community is encouraged.
